Phantom: Dog

“Phantom: Dog” is a series of wood sculptures by Toshiki Yagisawa. Using the familiar form of the dog as a starting point, the works take shape as a fictional vernacular, as if they had been passed down for generations within the everyday life of an imagined place. The natural traces of the wood, including grain, knots, cracks, and carving marks, are left visible, giving each piece its own unique form.
